Lindsay Hart, European Tyre Sales Director:
We are three months into a new decade and already there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the future of Goodyear Farm Tires in the UK and Europe.
If 2019 was about re-launching the brand and raising awareness amongst the farming community in these regions, then the target this year is to continue to build our coverage and reach through our distributor network.
In the UK, we have enjoyed a major coup by reaching an agreement with Micheldever Group, and its retail brand Protyre, to become an official distributor.
This is one of the UK’s fastest growing tyre retailers and, with 18 agricultural centres across the UK, we have considerably extended our presence.
There are Protyre centres as far north as Scotland and Cumbria, as far south as Essex and Hampshire and plenty in between – including Wales – so we have plenty of bases covered.
When you consider we also have agreements with British Rubber Company, Sam Moreton & Son, Geoffrey Harris Tyres, Fieldens OTR and Farm Tires NI, our position in the UK market is strong with huge potential to grow.
The picture is equally encouraging in Europe. The Spanish market is particularly buoyant through our distributor Nex Tyres and they will be extending into Portugal imminently.
The Ukraine is also performing very strongly, while we will soon be venturing into Poland as we secure a presence in yet another new country.
Elsewhere in mainland Europe, we are making encouraging progress in Italy, Greece, France and Germany to name but a few.
My thanks go to all our hardworking distributors which are helping us restore the glory days of Goodyear Farm Tires. There is plenty to be excited about moving forward.
