The farming families of Great Britain will be celebrated in a new podcast series launched by Goodyear Farm Tires.
The first episode of Talking Crop UK will be available on all major podcast platforms from Wednesday January 29.
The series will be hosted by Will Evans, who previously presented his own Rock & Roll Farming podcast – which secured more than two million downloads - and is himself a beef cattle and arable farmer in Wrexham.
The debut series of Talking Crop will feature six episodes and will delve into the unique successes, challenges and choices farming families face.
The opening episode features Lucy and Chad Stevens who halted their careers as a beautician and police officer respectively to become full-time farmers and preserve the family ownership at Horncastle Farm in Wakefield.
Goodyear Farm Tires has a proud history of supporting farming families and will sponsor the category at the British Farming Awards for the third consecutive year in 2025.
Amongst the themes the podcast will cover is succession planning, diversification of farming and relationships between family members.
Natalie Dukes, Marketing & Communications Manager at Goodyear Farm Tires, said: “Farming families are the lifeblood of the British agricultural scene so to be able to acknowledge and celebrate this group of people through a new podcast is a genuine privilege.
“We want to provide a unique insight into the hard work, dedication and benefits which farming families bring to the country and to open the farm door on some fantastic stories.
“Farmers the length and breadth of the country have endured an extremely difficult few years and we want to shine a positive light onto their work and give them the credit and respect they deserve through Talking Crop.
“Goodyear Farm Tires has been an integral part of the British farming industry for many decades and our tyres are on tractors, from modern to classic and right through to vintage.
“Our strapline is Generations of Growth and there felt no better way to show our support to farmers than creating a podcast series to celebrate those families who have dedicated their lives to the industry.”
Talking Crop podcast host Will added: “While I’ve had a fair bit of experience of podcasting, this new launch from Goodyear Farm Tires is extremely exciting and I’m very proud to have been asked to present it.
“I’m at least the 10th generation of family on my farm so it’s a subject which is extremely close to my heart.
“Every farming family has its own unique and compelling story to tell and, while there will be thousands of valid contenders for this podcast series around the country, we are featuring six which will give a wonderful insight into the high and lows of day-to-day farming life.
“I can’t wait for Talking Crop to launch and for farmers across the UK to start listening to stories which they will truly resonate with.”
